What is this Essential Oils and Aromatherapy?
WHAT IS ESSENTIAL OIL?
From the 5th century BC onwards, people learned to obtain fragrant medicines from various plants. They used it for mummification and added it to the materials used in the construction of temples. These scents were volatile and dissolved in oil to provide better protection of the aroma.
It was widely used to prevent the spread of infectious diseases and to disinfect buildings (through incense) in religious ceremonies. In modern conditions, we benefit from the healing effects of essential oils through inhalation, digestion and skin application.
Essential oils provide protection against bacteria, viruses and germs, affect biochemical processes in our body, balance metabolism and the overall health of our body.

HOW TO OBTAIN?
The two most commonly used methods for obtaining essential oil from plants are steam distillation and cold extraction.
Distillation has always been both a science and an art.
The most common method used to obtain essential oils is steam distillation at low temperatures. The pressurized steam is circulated through each part of the plant. Essential oils are separated from the plant and carried by steam. When the steam cools, water and oils are separated and this oil is collected and bottled appropriately. Temperature and pressure are two important factors to achieve a high quality essential oil.
Cold pressing is another method used to obtain these wonderful essential oils. This method, also known as “squeezing / squeezing;; It is used to obtain citrus oils such as orange, lime, lemon, bergamot and grapefruit.
WHAT IS AROMATHERAPY?
Aromatherapy is an alternative treatment method aimed at increasing the psychological and physical well-being by using essential oils obtained from different parts of the herbs. Roots, seeds and flowers are just a few of the parts that contain these aromatic compounds.

To protect yourself from fake or diluted low quality oils, it is important that you understand what the product is. When purchasing your essential oils, note the following:
Read the text on the label carefully - it should contain the Latin name of the plant and the words 100 100% pure and natural essential oil ”. The product with this expression on it; natural, environmentally friendly raw materials.
Essential oils are stored and sold in dark glass bottles to avoid sunlight damage. If the quality of the product is high, you cannot expect it to be cheap. Oils (cedar, pine, etc.) and citrus (orange, lemon, etc.) oils obtained from only conifer trees have relatively low prices.

Do not eat or swallow.
You can test the essential oil by adding 2-3 drops of oil to one of your normal creams. Then apply your cream to a small area on the inside of your elbow and wait for 24 hours. You will see the reaction of your skin by experimenting in a smaller area. So you can protect yourself from allergic reactions.
