If you have a sinus problem, try treating sinus infection with essential oils instead of running to a pharmacy or doctor for a solution. Sinus infection (sinusitis) can be difficult to treat, for example antibiotics do not affect the sinuses. But aromatherapy can be a very effective treatment because it allows the oil to penetrate into the sinus cavity when it is drawn to the nose. You can try many of them until you find what works best for you. You'il start breathing much easier before you know what happened.

Method 1
Preparing to Use Aromatherapy

one
Be aware of the symptoms of sinus infection. Fever, bad breath, toothache and fatigue are symptoms of sinusitis. If you have viral infections or allergies, you may notice a transparent discharge. Or if you have a bacterial or fungal infection, you may notice a greenish, turbid discharge. [one]
Drug treatment; prescription antibiotics, antiviral drugs, nasal sprays containing phenylephrine, or oral decongestants. Most of these should not be used for more than three days. They may also have side effects. [2nd]

2nd
Drink too much water. Try to drink at least six glasses of water a day. This makes the stream aqueous and more fluid so that the stream flows more easily. Don't worry if it runs down your throat. This may bother you, but your body will take care of the mucus that goes to your stomach.
Drinking dairy products can intensify mucus. This makes it difficult for the current to flow. Therefore, avoid drinking dairy products. You should also avoid drinking as it may irritate the sinuses. [3]

3
Pick an essential oil. Preferably, select an organic essential oil which is the product of a well-known company that can guarantee the purity of the oil. [4] You can start by choosing a smell you like. All oils listed here have anti-inflammatory properties and reduce swelling of the sinuses. You can mix the oils to create the most suitable mixture for you. When mixing oils, all you have to do is drip evenly.
Eucalyptus
Menthol

Method 2
Using Aromatherapy Techniques

one
Wash the sinuses using a nasal kettle (neti pot). Prepare a solution with essential oils. Add this liquid to the nose kettle. Lean towards the sink, turn your head aside. With your head tilted, gently pour the solution through the top of the nostril. Don't forget to breathe through your mouth. The solution will flow through the other nostril. Repeat the same procedure through the other nostril. [5]
To prepare a solution, drip an equal amount of no more than 9 or 10 drops of the oils of your choice. Add one and a half cups of warm pure water (not too hot, not to burn sensitive nose tissue) and six tablespoons of finely ground raw sea salt to a bowl. Stir the solution until the salt is dissolved in water. Make sure to use pure water, otherwise there is a risk of infection. [6] Add essential oils and mix well.

2nd
Use an air humidifier. There are many types of air humidifiers, but all have the function of distributing essential oils into the air to allow you to breathe them. Follow the instructions on the packaging of the humidifier. Choose your oils or create your own mix. Drip no more than 3-5 drops of essential oil into half a glass of water. Those with sinus infections should sit as close to the humidifier as possible and breathe deeply. [7]
This method can be very useful if more than one person in your family has sinus infection.

3
Inhalate essential oils. Boil pure water or tap water and pour about 50 milliliters of boiling water into a heat resistant bowl. Drip 8 to 10 drops of essential oil and stir the liquid. You can apply this method in a different way by making use of herbs used in cooking instead of essential oils. Add 2 tablespoons oregano and 2 tablespoons basil to the bowl. Cover a towel over your head, bow to the bowl, breathe vapor with your nose and mouth. Do this as long as the steam rises.
When the water has cooled, you can repeat this process as many times as you like by heating the water again. You can use the same solution again and again until all the water has evaporated.

4
Use essential oils when washing. Drop 12 to 15 drops of an oil or oil mixture of your choice into the water you are washing. Set the water to a temperature that you can withstand and feel comfortable and stand in the bathtub as long as you want.

5
Scrub the pressure points with a mixture of essential oils. Dilute the essential oil using carrier oil, then rub the various pressure points on the face with this diluted oil. These pressure points are located near the nostrils, under the middle of the nose, at the temples, at the beginning of the eyebrows and along the forehead. Cover her face with a small warm towel and hold it on her face until the towel cools down. Repeat this process if you wish. [8]
Apply the oil carefully so that it does not come into contact with the eyes.

Things You Need

nose teapot (neti pot)
hot water
finely ground sea salt
essential oils
air humidifier
bowl
towel
small towel

Tips

Rest as long as you can.
If your fever starts to develop, if you still don't feel relief after 4-5 days, if you have swelling on your face, you have pain or if you have a bad breath for no reason, you should make an appointment with a doctor.

Warnings

If the oil you will use is the oil of a plant you are sensitive to, select another one from the list of oils. All of these are effective in the treatment of sinus infection.
Although not very common, some essential oils may not have a good effect on some people. Test the oil first. Add a drop of this oil to a tablespoon of lukewarm water before using any oil. Stir and lightly vaporize. Put a drop on your wrist and wait an hour. If your body doesn't react, continue with the method you chose.
If the body reacts (nasal disorders, excessive watering in the eyes, skin rash, nausea, etc.), select another essential oil and repeat the test.
Don't use your nose kettle for more than 3 weeks. If you still have sinus, see a doctor. This may indicate other underlying problems. [9]
