What is seasonal influenza?

It is a highly contagious disease caused by influenza virus, which is more common in the period from late autumn to winter and early spring. For this reason, the disease is seen in the expected number of people between the end of autumn, winter and early spring every year and is called seasonal flu.

What are the Symptoms of Flu?

How Influenza Is Transmitted?

It is mainly transmitted by inhalation of droplets emitted by sick individuals during coughing, sneezing and speech by healthy individuals. Millions of droplets containing influenza virus are distributed around the patient as a result of coughing or sneezing. It has been shown that these droplets can spread 100 - 180 cm (1-2 meters) away from infected individuals.

It can also be transmitted by contacting the hands, mouth, nose or eye after contact with the surfaces and objects contaminated with these droplets.
