What is seasonal influenza?
It is a highly contagious disease caused by influenza virus, which is more common in the period from late autumn to winter and early spring. It affects a certain number of people each year according to the characteristics of the society and makes them sick. For this reason, the disease is seen in the expected number of people between the end of autumn, winter and early spring every year and is called seasonal flu.
What is Swine Flu?
Various animals have their own flu viruses, and animals can also suffer from influenza. In general, influenza viruses in animals are not expected to infect humans. However, in some years, influenza viruses in animals can change the structure and infect humans and make people sick. The swine flu virus was spread to people in Mexico in 2009, spreading from person to person, affecting more people than expected, spreading all over the world and causing an epidemic. This epidemic in 2009 was expressed as an outbreak of swine flu. The same factor, like other seasonal influenza agents, influenced and sickened the expected number of people in the following years. Therefore, in the following years swine flu virus has now become one of the seasonal influenza viruses.
What are the Symptoms of Flu?

Vomiting and diarrhea may accompany this condition in children, and the additional symptoms to be considered in young children are restlessness, loss of appetite and drowsiness.
Symptoms may reach the level that affects the patient's daily work. Fatigue can persist for a few weeks even after the flu has passed.
Complaints usually last for 7 days, exacerbate within the first 2-3 days and then begin to improve, but the healing time may be extended to 1-2 weeks.
How Influenza Is Transmitted?
It is mainly transmitted by inhalation of droplets emitted by sick individuals during coughing, sneezing and speech by healthy individuals. Millions of droplets containing influenza virus are distributed around the patient as a result of coughing or sneezing. It has been shown that these droplets can spread 100 - 180 cm (1-2 meters) away from infected individuals.
It can also be transmitted by contacting the hands, mouth, nose or eye after contact with the surfaces and objects contaminated with these droplets. Handshaking, kissing, speaking more than a meter away are important ways of transmission. Door handle, table, cup, etc. On the surfaces the virus remains alive for 2-8 hours.
Sick persons are diagnosed with the disease on the 5th-7th day of the disease, starting 1 day before the onset of symptoms. until the day is infectious.
