What is ear wax?
Commonly known as ear wax, the ear canal is sometimes caused by congestion in the outer ear canal. Fluid with its own odor is secreted by the covering covering the outer ear canal. A mixture of dust and other particles entering the external ear canal with this fluid forms earwax. This formed earwax is ejected from the eardrum with a skin movement towards the auricle. Earwax does not actually mean that the ear is dirty. Ear secretion is beneficial because it protects the ear canal and forms a temporary protective fluid layer. Absence of ear secretion may cause the external auditory canal to dry.
What symptoms of ear wax give?
The majority of patients may have no complaints about earwax. Ear wax can be detected during routine ear nose and throat examination. Temporary hearing loss, fullness in the ear, pain, itching, buzzing, ringing may occur when accumulation in one or two ears creates congestion. Hearing loss can give different degrees of symptoms.
How do you know if ear wax is present?
The diagnosis of earwax can be made by the physician by ear examination with light instruments. In ear examination; The presence of earwax is diagnostic. In such cases, it will be beneficial to consult the otorhinolaryngologist.
Should earwax be removed?
It is not a condition that needs to be cleaned as of the formation and after of the plug. The ear has a protective feature. This formed plug is continuously ejected by the cleaning mechanism in the ear. However, this cleaning mechanism is not sufficient if the plug completely covers the outer ear canal. In this case, the ear nose and throat specialist should be cleaned by the plug.
Can we clean the earwax ourselves?
Mostly, the ear canal cleans itself. This cleaning is done by pushing the eardrum slowly from the eardrum to the auricle with a natural mechanism. The old puddle is constantly pushed out of the ear, where it dries and falls. If the patient attempts to clean his ear with a foreign object, he pushes this stream into the inner eardrum. The ear cannot be cleaned using foreign objects, only the earwax is pushed in. This well-intentioned movement does not clean the ear; even easier ear clogging.
What is earwax treatment?
There are different methods of treatment of cushion. The options vary according to the preference of the patient and physician and the characteristics of the health institution. Treatment options include earwax shredder drip, flushing with or without drops (ear lavage), vacuum extraction, surgical instruments removal. Does ear wax clean up wont?
